Know Your Controls

Hello!!!
Today most of the techies use the control name “DropDown” which does not exists in latest versions of Visual Studio. But this control is been replace by Combo-box.

Actually the control DropDown is now has come up with new features hence named it as ComboBox (Combo Biryani Pack). Haaa
The Details are here as:

ComboBox is a control where it has 3 different Styles of Display like

1. Simple : Simple display allows user to edit the contents of list of ComboBox

2. DropDown : it does allows user to edit the contents of list of comboBox with special options like AutoCompleteSource and AutocompleteMode where suggestions are visible to users as he enters the text in ComboBox.

3. DropDownList: It doesnot allow user to edit the contents of list but allows only selection
clear information is provided as below

Simple

Specifies that the list is always visible and that the text portion is editable. This means that the user can enter a new value and is not limited to selecting an existing value in the list.

DropDown

Specifies that the list is displayed by clicking the down arrow and that the text portion is editable. This means that the user can enter a new value and is not limited to selecting an existing value in the list. When using this setting, the Append value of AutoCompleteMode works the same as the SuggestAppend value. This is the default style.
Append

DropDownList

Specifies that the list is displayed by clicking the down arrow and that the text portion is not editable. This means that the user cannot enter a new value. Only values already in the list can be selected. The list displays only if AutoCompleteMode is Suggest or SuggestAppend.
Suggest

In the following image it is observe that as the user enters a new value suggestions and appending both takes place simultaneously.
